Understanding how to pay attention to your intuition or ‘natural knowing’ is a vital skill for success in business and life
If people like Oprah Winfrey and Sir Richard Branson are always talking about the power of using your intuition, then learning how to use it is only going to add a valuable and profitable skill to your repertoire
All of us have ‘natural knowing’ or intuition
Everyone has the potential to tap into this wisdom as long as you know how
Take a look at something that went wrong in the past, that with hindsight you realized that you knew it would go wrong (but still did it anyway). In hindsight, here were probably some ‘red flags along the way that you dismissed because you didn’t ‘have proof’.
That was your inner knowing, guidance or intuition working in your best interests.
'Learning to trust your instincts, using your intuitive sense of what's best for you, is paramount for any lasting success.
I've trusted the still, small voice of intuition my entire life. And the only time I've made mistakes is when I didn't listen'
Oprah Winfrey
Every one of us accesses our Intuition differently
Every one of us accesses our Intuition differently
A creative person may access their intuition more easily visually (clairvoyance)
A music lover may access their intuition more audially or 'hear' an inner voice (clairaudient)
A person who is into sports, touch or the physical body may access their inner knowing through physical sensations - gut feelings, tingling in a part of the body, some even experience inner guidance via a headache, others can intuit via a scent at certain times!
You may get 'a feeling', a 'knowing', a 'hunch' - all signs of inner confirmation that you're on the right track.
In my experience you can't receive inner guidance with real trust and accuracy until you learn to differentiate between a thought and an intuitive sign
Meditation increases your intuition
Meditation is one of THE most powerful practices to decrease your mind chatter so you can hear, feel, see or sense your inner knowing
You may think you’re not the meditating type but if you want to get your gut-feeling train going, then ‘get your meditation on’ – 10 mins a day is all it takes.
Get physical - pay attention to your body's sensations and responses
Your intuition lives in your body not in your mind
Whenever you have a decision to make, check in with yourself and ask , 'What am I feeling? What am I sensing in my body right now'?
Do you feel an immediate sense of fear, anxiety, worry or resistance? Are you getting tight in your chest or your shoulders, do you feel tired or reluctant?
Alternatively, do you feel a sense of openness or lightness or excitement or a sense of relief?
'Your Intuition speaks to you through your physical and emotional feelings, not your thoughts'
Yolanda
Ask for guidance
Each of us has access to an infinite source of wisdom, whether you call it God, Spirit, Source, Universal Intelligence or any other name
If you find yourself stuck - or anticipating being stuck - in a certain situation, ask for guidance and really mean it.
The response is accelerated depending on how genuine and emotional you are when asking - it's the emotions the Universe responds to, more so much the words
Once you ask for guidance, watch and listen for the answer
If inwardly, it can be very subtle, like a whisper and you have to know how to tune in and pay attention or it may come immediately or days later, it may be via a book, documentary, movie or a chance encounter in the supermarket queue ... JUST KNOW IT WILL BE ANSWERED and you need to open to receiving it
"When you give your subconscious mind a little bit of a break or time to process, it will come up with the perfect intuitive answer"
Here's a trick I use
I say inwardly to Source after I asked for guidance and meant it ... "Now, in case I miss the answer you give me, please keep giving it to me until I see it! Thank you!!"
Then I surrender, move on with my day and keep my eyes open over the following days.
See how you get on as it's all learning and growing and we're always supported intuitively (even when we think it's not working, or won't happen to us)!
